Home Visiting

We provide family resources in your home.

Free to those who qualify, SAL Community Services' Home Visiting program supports pregnant people and parents with young children aged 0-5 who live in Rock Island County and face greater barriers to positive maternal and child health support.

Home Visitors provide family support and partnership through planned, regular visits with a trained professional based on a family's needs and schedules. These visits help to facilitate learning interactions between parents and their children.

We believe parents are the first and best teachers for their children—and with each visit, we coach parents on everything they need to know.

What We Provide:

  • Family support from pregnancy through age 5
  • Partnerships with parents to improve child development
  • Health and safety training
  • Continued support as your child grows
  • Connections to community resources
  • Group meetings with other new parents

We also help you access services in our community:

  • Medical and dental providers for children
  • Safe, affordable housing and transportation
  • Food and clothing
  • Early childhood education and care

Meet Other Parents:

We gather small groups of children, parents, and their home visitors each month for group socializations.

These socializations offer children the chance to practice social skills, participate in group activities such as circl time, use classroom-like materials, and interact with other children so that when they enter preschool, they're fully prepared.
